Many tourists in Bangkok like to schedule in a trip to the ever-popular Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo which lies on the outskirts of the city however visitors earlier this week got a little more than they bargained for when one of the shows went horribly wrong when a crocodile trainer got bitten and mauled as he placed his head in a crocodile’s mouth.
Prawit Seabmee, 27, was left needing 30 stitches on his head after the crocodile snapped its jaws shut just seconds after Seabmee had lain down and put his head on the giant reptile’s lower jaw. The trainer told television news reporters that he had managed to pull his head out just in time although that didn’t stop him from being left with multiple lacerations and wounds on his head.
Seabmee also told the news station that he had been performing with the same animal for around four months and had done more than 100 shows and that this was the first time anything had ever gone wrong. He believes that the fact that he accidently touched the crocodile’s mouth with his wet left hand was what triggered the attack. He also said that as soon as he had recovered he would be returning to work as he loves his job so much!
Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm is the largest and the oldest in Thailand and is immensely popular with tourists who flock to see the dare devil trainers perform stunts with the reptiles. In this case the attack on Seabmee was captured on video by a tourist and the short film immediately went viral.
The crocodile has, for the time being, been suspended from shows.
