Well, if Jazz is not your calling, do not worry. The festival also includes two fantastic Opera performers.
Two of the greatest voices in contemporary opera will sing some of the most famous masterpieces of the genre on this enchanted evening in Bangkok.  The Portuguese tenor Bruno Ribeiro has taken stages by storm all over Europe and North America with his powerfully expressive voice and heartthrob looks.

Annamaria Dell’Oste is a soprano and accomplished performer. She has won beautiful reviews for her heartbreaking renditions of operatic classics.

Together with the Orchestra da Camera del Teatro Regio di Parma, they will be taking music lovers on a fantastic voyage through all the greatest hits of Verdi, from La Traviata, Don Carlos, Il Corsaro, and the prelude from what many consider his magnum opus, Aida.

This night will be something special. Opera is the most musical way to tell a theatrical tale. Combining impassioned singing, elaborate costumes, sets of a historical nature, and often a live orchestra, the genre is best appreciated in a live setting. At its most basic level, opera is composed of words, or the libretto, with a musical score. The curtains opened on this genre in Italy towards the terminus of the 15th century. For this reason, many of the genre’s greats, like Verdi, have been Italian. Operas are often tragic. They riff on themes such as romantic betrayals and unrequited love or, in the case of the classic Carmen, a love triangle gone murderously awry.
