MBK shopping centre is a large shopping mall of Bangkok. Famous amongst the middle class and especially among tourists because its reasonable prices, this eight storey mall with over 2000 shops promises to be a shopping spectacle. Named as Mahboonkrong, it derives its name from the parents of the developer namely Mah & Boonkrong, both their statues are displayed at the ground floor.

Products here range from clothing, fashion accessories, handbags, leather products and luggage to furniture, mobile phones, electric appliances, cameras, stationery and DVDs. This place has also gained notoriety for being a bargainer’s paradise. If you are tactful, you could be lucky to get away with great deals. This place is considered to be a heaven for electronic goods and cameras. On its fourth floor you will find a great number of mobile shops selling your favorite brands and a good number also selling second hand phones. Also on display on this floor are other goods like dvd’s, cd’s, pc games, consoles and cameras.

One of the highlight of this mall is the four storey Tokyu Department store, the only one of its kind in Bangkok and a leading department store of Japan. The department store offers high quality merchandise at reasonable prices, categories include clothing, cosmetics & home décor. Another attraction of this mall is on the sixth floor, it is an indoor craft market where you can buy handmade crafts of Thailand, especially the souvenirs.

The market opens from 10 am to 10 pm and is easily accessible from the National Stadium BTS station.
