The set up here is good and is air-conditioned as well but what steals the show is the amazing persona of the lady who runs this school, Chef Lee. You are made to learn cooking from its very base, a good look at various ingredients and how to make all the important pastes for Thai curries serves well to teach a beginner. Owing to the Chef’s amiable personality this place has become an instant hit for the Thai local as well as visiting foreigner.

After a long-tail boat ride to the traditional Thai house the cooking class begins. Each session includes brief tutorials, ingredient preparation, hands-on cooking followed by a discussion. Cooking classes and tutorials are conducted in an open air kitchen. An orchard containing mango, banana, papaya and coconut trees, and fresh herbs and spices that are used in the recipes are just a few yards away. You are also taken to an open-air market to learn how fresh ingredients are selected, and finally you are rewarded to taste your own cooked dishes.

A lady named Angsana has taken this initiative from her home and teaches Thai cooking from the comfort of her home. She teaches from her family book of recipes which has more than a 100 Thai recipes. The student has the option to learn in both Thai as well as English as Angsana is adept at both. This format of cooking class is fast becoming popular in Bangkok with enterprising ladies like Angsana taking to the fore. This particular cooking class run by Angsana is located at 364, Sukhumvit Soi 79.
